SHARED WATCHLISTS

How to build a shared movie watchlist people actually use.

A shared watchlist only works if adding something is easy and choosing from it later is even easier.

Keep one source of truth

If recommendations are scattered between screenshots, group chats, Notes and different streaming watchlists, most of them disappear. Pick one shared place where everyone knows to add ideas.

Keep the list intentional

A 300-title dumping ground creates the same problem as browsing Netflix from scratch. Remove things nobody is interested in anymore and keep separate lists for different contexts, such as family movie night, date night or short TV series.

Let everyone contribute

Collaborative lists work best when every member can add titles. It turns the list into a record of shared interest rather than one person's recommendations for everybody else.

Add context where it matters

If a title is there for a reason, make that reason easy to remember. Maybe a friend recommended it, it suits a particular genre mood or everyone agreed to save it for the weekend.

Use the list as a shortlist, not an archive

When it is time to choose, filter the shared list down to a few options and decide from there. The list should reduce friction, not become another endless catalogue.

View Crew supports private, public and collaborative lists.

Save for yourself, publish your picks or let friends build the same watchlist together.
